Meet Cayden -this handsome boy is a familiar face to our team. Sadly, he’s back in care with a reinfection of cystitis, a painful condition that needs prompt treatment.

This rescue was also a perfect learning opportunity for one of our newest volunteers, Heather, who got hands-on with flagging -a key skill in bringing koalas safely down from trees.( more on that to come!)

With Cayden in a smaller tree and nowhere else to go, it was an ideal, low-stress chance for our volunteers to practice and build confidence.

Every rescue is not just about saving a koala, but also about training our team to be ready for the next call – day or night.

Get well soon, Cayden -we’ll be watching over you until you’re ready to head home.

Koalas are on the move -please slow down and stay alert.

If you spot one on the ground or on the road, your call could save a life.
