Late last night, a female koala named Leaf was hit by a car on Sturgeon St, Ormiston (near Fellmonger Park carpark) around 10:45pm.

Leaf is now at RSPCA QLD Wacol receiving treatment – she has a stretched pouch and is lactating, which means she had a joey that is now missing.

Without her mum, this joey will not survive.

These photos show another rescue where a joey ended up wedged in a car grill after a collision. This is why we’re asking:

If you drove through the area last night and think you may have hit something – even if you’re not sure – PLEASE check your car, especially the grill and undercarriage.

If you think you may have hit something, please also give us a call and let us know the location where it happened. This helps us ensure we are searching in the right area.

We do not judge. Accidents happen. We just desperately need to find this little one and reunite them with care.
