24/7 Rescue and Rehabilitation
Koala Rescue Redlands & Surrounds Inc. operates a dedicated 24/7 hotline to respond to sick, injured, and displaced koalas across the Redlands region. Our trained volunteers are on call day and night to ensure koalas get the help they need as quickly as possible.
Our Rescue Hotline
If you see a koala in trouble, call our emergency hotline immediately:
0435 504 222
Calling ensures a rescuer is dispatched straight away. Please do not rely on social media messages, as they may not be seen in time.
How We Rescue
When you call, one of our trained volunteers will:
Take details about the koala’s location and condition.
Dispatch the closest available rescuer.
Provide you with instructions on how to keep the koala safe until help arrives.
Our team uses specialist rescue gear and follows strict safety protocols to ensure the welfare of both the koala and the community.
Rehabilitation
Once rescued, koalas are transported to wildlife hospitals or specialist carers for assessment and treatment.
Short-term care: Injured or sick koalas are stabilised and treated by veterinarians.
Rehabilitation: Koalas may spend weeks or months in care to recover fully.
Release: When healthy and fit, they are returned to suitable habitat close to where they were found.
We work closely with local wildlife hospitals and carers to make sure every koala has the best possible chance of survival.
Why It Matters
Koalas in the Redlands face increasing threats from habitat loss, vehicle strikes, dog attacks, and disease. Every rescue call we receive can mean the difference between life and death. Our 24/7 rescue and rehabilitation service is only possible because of the support of volunteers and the community.
